Miss Maine: A Woman of Substance

The Miss Maine Scholarship Program, Inc. is the Official State Preliminary to Miss America, one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the largest source of scholarships for women in the world. The Miss America Program provides professional and personal opportunities to young women and helps promote a voice in politics, culture and the community. This not-for-profit organization maintains a tradition of empowering American women to achieve professional and personal goals. Miss Maine/Miss America is more relevent than ever as a vast opportunity for some of the most intelligent, talented, multi-faceted, and stylish women today. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance. This assistance is not just for the handful who become Miss America, but is available to over 12,000 young women who compete in the state and local competitions as well.

Since 2000, the Miss Maine Scholarship Program has made available over $185,000 in scholarships and cash awards to program participants.  Additionally, the Miss Maine Scholarship Program provides awards and prizes valued at over $50,000 each year.

Since partnering with the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in 2007 as part of community service, the Miss Maine Scholarship Program has raised over $30,000 for CMN (which stays right here in Maine!)
